Dave Trader, chief security officer for custom software development IT firm GalaxE.Solutions, Inc., was appointed to the Center for Cyber Security & Intelligence Studies’ (CCIS) Board of Advisors. In this role, he will serve a one-year term focused on creating a strategy for the Center’s Cyber Security Education program at University of Detroit Mercy, in Detroit and the Midwest Region.

CCIS provides the education, experience and resources essential to cultivate effective cybersecurity professionals who are guided by logic, critical thinking and ethics. CCIS was formed using Department of Defense funding in 2008 to provide the physical and technical space to support research and community outreach, combining Information Assurance and Criminal Justice programs.

For GalaxE.Solutions, Trader is responsible for overseeing all areas of infrastructure, technology, and corporate security for the company, including monitoring physical and network security; privacy, compliance, regulation and security policies and procedures; and emergency management.

Trader is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for eight years as a Communications & Intelligence Expert. Trader is a member of the FBI’s Detroit InfraGard team. He is a graduate of Bob Jones University, in Greenville, SC., where he earned a degree in Business Administration and Information Technology.

He resides in Canton, Mich.
