ExperienceIT, the innovative collaboration between leading information technology-focused organizations and workforce agencies in downtown Detroit, will honor 18 students at today’s graduation ceremony who have completed the 12-week training programming. Graduates will next have the opportunity to interview for employment with program corporate partners.

The IT training initiative brings together downtown Detroit’s premier IT-focused companies, including Quicken Loans, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, DTE, GalaxE.Solutions, In-House Realty, Marketing Associates and Title Source along with program convener WIN (Workforce Intelligence Network).

ExperienceIT evolved the program for Fall 2017, moving to an “after hours” format with in-class and self-directed training, bringing increased flexibility and, in turn, opening up the initiative for more potential students.

“It has been quite rewarding to see our students learning new and vital hard and soft tech skills as they moved through our core curriculum to completion,” said Linglong He, CIO of Quicken Loans and ExperienceIT Chair. “These individuals represent the future for our region and technological innovation in general. As we continue to grow Detroit’s IT hub, we want these individuals to stay here for rewarding careers and lives.”

Since the program was initiated in 2014 ExperienceIT has graduated nearly 200 individuals with an average of 75% accepting full-time positions with partner companies.
